At Westinghouse Arts Academy (WAA) we’re proud to offer exceptional arts and academic programming to students in grades 9–12 in a dynamic public charter school setting. We also know that no two students learn the same way. That’s why we’ve created a responsive curriculum, a caring school culture, and hands-on learning opportunities designed to support every kind of learner. Here are four ways we’re doing just that:
A Culture of Caring
At WAA, our tight-knit community of teachers, students, and families makes sure that everyone feels heard and respected. We celebrate individuality and encourage all forms of self-expression. When enrolling here, our students can feel confident knowing they’re part of the Westinghouse Arts family.
Levels of Learning
Whether a student needs additional support or is ready for more academic challenges, WAA meets them where they are. For high-achieving learners, we offer honors courses and honor societies across most majors. Plus, Advanced Placement (AP) classes to help our students earn college credit while still in high school. Students who need more support can access academic tutoring, mentoring, and social-emotional learning (SEL) resources – all aimed at helping them thrive.
Building Blocks of Knowledge
Our arts programs are grounded in strong academics. That means students receive comprehensive instruction in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science, alongside their creative work. Together, these disciplines provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for both college and career success.
Something For Everyone
Our school structure doesn’t follow the traditional model. Instead, our students choose “programs” and spend time each day working deeply on the subjects they love – while still keeping up with academic coursework. Whether they’re planning to attend college or enter the workforce after graduation, we help each individual explore their options and build the life skills needed for the future.
At Westinghouse Arts Academy, we’re committed to reaching all learners through thoughtful curriculum, personalized support, and a vibrant community. Want to learn more? Contact us and enroll today.
